"Juanjo Mercadal, a wonderful and virtuoso musician, showed an extraordinary reading of the funny, beautiful and virtuoso work by Weber with the beauty of Mozart’s music. He accomplished all this with a soft timbre and perfect but undemonstrative virtuosity. In his interpretation there is something much more modern: an intimate and intellectual line, which gives a different value to the work. Mercadal showed a brilliant talent (would be nice to hear him more often on our stages!). In the encore, a Spanish piece probably originally written for guitar, he sounded with an amazing guitar authenticity, also with impressive but non demonstrative virtuosity with soft and beautiful timbre..."
